“A Future Together” is an EVS group project promoting intercultural dialogue and social inclusion of people coming from different socio-economical environment and different personal backgrounds. It aims in fact at raising the awareness of young people about the importance of developing a good idea of cultural, economical and personal diversity, based on common values. The idea is to help the creation of a society where all people feel valued, their differences are respected and their basics needs are met, so that as citizens they are empowered in their participation and contribution.
The project involves six countries: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Kenya, Ghana and Mozambique The service is planned for 12 volunteers that will give their support to centres dealing with assistance and integration of youngsters, children, people suffering from HIV/AIDS, people with disabilities and elderly people into society. It lasts 9 months and it is characterised by all the necessary activities to prepare the volunteers not only to have a good experience but also to make them aware about the fact of being a benefit for the local community. The mutual exchange of skills and traditions is helping both the volunteers and the community in being more aware of the importance of a fruitful intercultural dialogue.
